1. Production Process

The production of rose oil is a very laborious and delicate process. First, the rose petals are picked early in the morning, before the flowers are fully open. This time frame is when the amount of essential oil in the petals is at its highest. The harvested petals are quickly processed, and the oils are extracted using steam distillation. This process is typically carried out in special distillation stills and is quite low in yield; only 1 kilogram of pure rose oil is obtained from approximately 3,000 kilograms of rose petals.

2. Chemical Components and Properties

Rose oil contains many chemical compounds such as monoterpenes, phenols, alkanes, and esters. These compounds give the oil its characteristic aromatic scent and therapeutic properties. Rose oil is also scientifically supported for its antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antidepressant effects.

3. Areas of Use

Cosmetics: Rose oil is used as a key ingredient in skin-renewing, moisturizing, and anti-aging products. It is effective in reducing redness, acne, and irritation.Perfumery: Due to its natural and long-lasting scent, it is an indispensable component of luxury perfumes. Aromatherapy: It is preferred in aromatherapy sessions for its stress-reducing and mood-enhancing effects.Medical Use: It plays a supportive role in preventing skin infections thanks to its wound-healing and antiseptic properties.

4. Value and Market Status

Rose oil is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world. The difficulty of production and low yield are the main factors driving up its price. Therefore, quality and purity tests are important; there is a risk of counterfeit and diluted products on the market.
